How do you store your yarn stash?

Please select Store? I just leave it around the house where I can admire it. In insect-proof bags/containers and out of direct sunlight. I have a specially built yarn room. Doesn't every one? I'll store it anywhere that will keep it clean and safe from kids & pets.

Please select Acrylic! What is this, the booby prize? No thank you. Yipee. I won a competition! That's great, but I'll need to see what the fibre content is before I decide what to do with it. It doesn't matter what blend it is, you can use any yarn for anything.

You are in a yarn store and a sales person asks if you would like to try some Qivuit. How do you reply?

Please select No thanks, I've just eaten. Qivuit is a little too run of the mill for me. Do you have any Vicuna? That sounds interesting. Is it the hand combed qivuit? I'd love to try it.

Please select I put it in my expensive, designer-label knitting project bag. I just put it somewhere out of the way. I just leave it wherever I was when I stopped working on it. I put it in a bag with the pattern, somewhere safe from kids/pets.

A friend has been given some 100% angora yarn. He wants to know if it would be a good choice for sports socks. How do you reply?

Please select It's hand wash only so it might not be the best choice. Angora is warm but easily felts/pills and needs hand washing. Save it for something special. You can use any yarn for socks Well anything is better than acrylic.

You are asked for advice on how to wash a hand knit wool sweater. What advice do you give?

Please select Just throw it in the washing machine. It'll be fine. Unless you know it's machine washable it's safer to hand wash it and dry it flat. It will probably be OK in the washing machine on a cool wool cycle. You must buy a detergent designed especially for wool and wash it by hand.
